Kawabata

Acer palmatum ‘Kawabata’ is a beautifully refined Japanese maple, admired for its soft colouring, delicate texture and elegant, rounded shape. In spring, this graceful variety emerges with fresh pink‑tinged leaves that gradually mature into gentle shades of light green, adding a subtle charm to any garden setting. As autumn approaches, the foliage transforms into a warm display of buttery yellows and soft golds, offering a soothing seasonal glow.

Compact and slow‑growing, ‘Kawabata’ is ideal for smaller gardens, courtyards or container planting. Its finely cut leaves and naturally tidy habit make it a lovely feature in Japanese‑inspired landscapes, shaded borders or peaceful seating areas. This variety thrives in partial shade with moist, well‑drained soil and benefits from a sheltered position to protect its delicate spring growth.

Elegant, understated and effortlessly beautiful, the Kawabata Japanese Maple brings year‑round interest and gentle colour to any outdoor space.
