Arakawa

The distinctive Arakawa Japanese Maple is treasured for its unique bark as much as its beautiful foliage. Unlike most Japanese Maples, Arakawa develops an attractive rough, corky bark from a relatively young age, adding exceptional texture and year-round interest to the garden. Its rich green leaves emerge in spring, creating a fresh and elegant display that beautifully complements its rugged trunk and branches.

As autumn approaches, the foliage transforms into brilliant shades of golden yellow, orange, and crimson, providing a spectacular seasonal show. The contrast between its fiery autumn colours and characterful bark makes Arakawa a particularly sought-after variety among gardeners and collectors alike.

With a graceful upright habit and excellent hardiness, Arakawa is ideal as a specimen tree, feature planting, or even for bonsai cultivation. Its architectural form ensures it remains a focal point throughout every season.
